What does a typical study skills class look like?During the daily 52-minute period, students complete a bell work activity in which they review a previously taught skill. Students spend 15-20 minutes participating in an instructional lesson focused on a study skill strategy or additional instruction of a content area topic . Students receive instruction on how to manage assigned tasks, as well as receive individual support and feedback through teacher-student conferences. Students also work on their study goal, receiving assistance as needed. This is the time set aside for Ms. Borth to work with the students on an individual basis or small group wherever the need may be.
